Lăm | 5 in counting 15, 25, 35, 45,... 95 |
Mười | 10 OR to count from 11 to 19 |
Mươi | 10 unit |
Chục | 10 unit in 20, 30,... 90 |
2. How to count from 10 to 19 in Vietnamese
Mười | + | [number] Except 15 |
For example:
- Mười hai is 12, and mười tám is 18.
- Mười lăm is 15.
3. How to count from 20 to 99 in Vietnamese
The formula to count from 20 to 99 is:

[Number] | + | mươi | + | [number] Except 25, 35, 45,... 95 |
The difference between “Chục” and “Mươi”:
- “Chục” is only used in 20, 30…90.
- Mươi can be used for all number from 20 - 99.

- Hai mươi and hai chục are both 20.
- Bốn mươi chín is 49, sáu mươi lăm is 65.
